Job Summary And Responsibilities As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You’ll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support. Every day you will apply your keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations. Assess and evaluate of the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patient’s age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs Make recommendations for changes in specific modes of therapy Educates patients and arranges home respiratory care services and patient therapy follow‑up assessments using language and materials appropriate for age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs Maintains established department policies, procedures and objectives, concerning quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions and infection control Job Requirements Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy education program, upon hire Respiratory Care Practitioner: KY, upon hire and Registered Respiratory Therapist, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 90 Days and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire Where You’ll Work Welcome to Saint Joseph London, a 150-bed regional hospital founded in 1926.
