Sr Data Engineer Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer who thrives on solving complex data challenges and building scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. This role is for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with deep SQL expertise and experience supporting data warehouses, analytics platforms, and batch processing environments. This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to work from the office at least three days a week.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server.Support and enhance enterprise Data Warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines.Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for automation and batch scheduling.Work with Mainframe datasets and utilities to extract and integrate data.Build and support datasets and data models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting.Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.Required QualificationsExperience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.Technical Skills: Advanced SQL expertise across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server is required. Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.) is necessary. Experience with Mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities) and hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools are also required.Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts such as ETL, dimensional modeling, data marts, and OLAP is needed.
