Compensation

Hourly Wage: $37.45 - $44.95, depending on experience.

Work Schedule

Part-Time: Days may vary, typically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse will apply the nursing process to plan and deliver direct care to assigned residents. Responsibilities include overseeing shift routines in the designated nursing unit and evaluating the activities of staff as the designated leader, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ongoing maintenance of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
• Preferred experience in long-term care settings.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions using initiative and discretion.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Effective communication skills with staff, families, and external agencies.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Customer service-oriented with knowledge of effective service techniques.
• Clinical proficiency in performing physical and cognitive assessments of residents.
• Competence in using computers and electronic devices for documentation and timekeeping.
• Team player mentality.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Direction

• Model positive communication with nursing assistants, interdisciplinary teams, and families.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors and colleagues during shift changes.
• Conduct rounds to assess residents' physical and psychosocial conditions.
• Assign staff appropriately to meet the needs of residents.
• Ensure staff adherence to their assignments during shifts.
• Participate in scheduled nursing and team meetings.
• Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Report any occupational exposures according to facility policies.

Resident Care

• Maintain proficiency in all required skills.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physicians.
• Monitor and document residents' responses to medications and treatments.
• Keep families informed about residents' conditions.
• Follow emergency protocols as necessary.

Documentation and Assessment

• Contribute to the development and updating of residents' care plans.
• Evaluate the performance of supervised personnel.
• Complete routine charting in accordance with established policies.
• Accurately transcribe physician orders and communicate necessary information to relevant departments.
• Document all incidents involving residents, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents as required.

Personnel Functions

• Attend scheduled nursing meetings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Fulfill continuing education requirements.
• Participate in employee evaluations and staffing recommendations.
• Foster positive relationships with inter-departmental personnel.
• Complete required in-services and online training modules.

Committee Participation

• Engage in various committees and meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.

Experience and Certifications
