Micro-Technician

Prime Beverage Group is looking for a team-oriented and passionate Micro Technician who will perform microbiological testing, sample preparation and trend analysis for ingredients, in-process and finished products. The Micro Technician reports directly to the Quality Control Manager and may have supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies. Position Responsibilities Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and utilities (e.g., water, compressed air) using established methods. Prepare raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples for micro analysis. Collect water samples from the sampling port and pasteurizer tunnel for micro analysis. Collect dry or liquid sugar samples from a bulk tank and delivery trucks for analysis when ready. Prepare and inventory necessary supplies for testing. Monitor equipment conditions and effectiveness. Provide timely analysis and results. Ship water, sugar, and other ingredient samples to customers. Plan with production and sanitation for internal micro swabbing. Validate and monitor the effective sanitation of equipment and facility on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. Perform environmental air plate sampling for monitoring-controlled points in response to customer specifications, government requirements, and Prime Beverage Group quality systems. Pull micro samples aseptically to maintain Control Points (CP). Have knowledge of different types of micro organisms. Perform other tasks as assigned. Position Requirements Proficient with basic computer software (Word, Excel, typing). Attention to detail. Basic Good Laboratory Practice to prevent cross-contamination. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to stand for long hours. Ability to lift 25 lbs or more. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or any other biology-related field. At least 3 years of Microbiology Lab experience, including at least 1 year in Food/Beverage (preferred). HACCP Certification is a plus.
