Confidential Employer.Job DescriptionManage a full caseload of California workers compensation defense matters with varying levels of complexityOpen new files, evaluate claims, and develop effective litigation plans and case strategiesConduct written discovery, depositions, investigations, and other case development activitiesPrepare for and make appearances before the Workers' Compensation Appeals BoardCommunicate directly with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout each matterDraft persuasive legal correspondence, pleadings, reports, and settlement documentsEvaluate exposure and provide practical recommendations designed to move cases toward effective resolutionMaintain organized files, deadlines, reporting requirements, and litigation calendarsCollaborate with attorneys and support professionals while independently driving assigned matters forwardQualificationsActive California Bar license in good standing2+ years of California workers compensation law experienceExperience managing workers compensation matters and litigation responsibilitiesStrong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to independently manage deadlines and a full caseloadStrong work ethic, sound professional judgment, and commitment to ethical practiceGenuine interest in building a long-term career with an established defense practiceLaw firm, in-house counsel, and solo practice backgrounds will be consideredWhy You Will Love Working HereYou will have the autonomy to own your cases without working in isolation.
