Application Technician

Rockford Fosgate is seeking an innovative, product manager to join our Product Development team to support our aftermarket and OEM product managers in the automotive, motorcycle, marine, motorsports infotainment space. This position reports to the Director of NPD Key Responsibilities: Assist with audio solutions for vehicle level builds for the automotive, marine, motorsports, and motorcycle categories. Fabrication of mounting plates, enclosures using wood, fiberglass, resin materials. Painting, sanding, texturing, other finishing methods. Assists marketing with the creation of displays and other materials Attends industry shows and shares information to capitalize on opportunities/trends in the marketplace. Tunes and tests vehicles Maintains knowledge of all current and past Rockford products. Brainstorming new product and category concepts in the automotive, motorcycle, motorsports and marine infotainment space Source units, speakers, subwoofers, amps, DSP management, vehicle level integration, future growth categories Defines application requirements, specs, to yield class-leading infotainment products Driving feature/benefit analysis through the development process in support of outward marketing campaign End user and distributor research (ethnography) Positioning of product in price point and feature level strategy Comfortable and confident giving presentations to room of internal and external stakeholders (PPT) Collaboration across departments (marketing, engineering, sales, supply chain, finance) Provide customer, sales, tech support training in support of new product launches Use of computer programs for job functions: Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, Solidworks, CNC/G-Code Programming of CNC, 3D Printer, 3D Scanner, use of other industry specific software Travel to support customers and shows both regionally and internationally (approx. 10-25%) Required Skills/Qualifications 3-5 years Car Audio Installation experience Strong customer-oriented focus Strong oral and written communication skills Detail oriented Ability to work in a team atmosphere Ability to travel as needed. Approximately 10% Knowledge of automotive, motorcycle, motorsports, marine brands/lifestyle Excellent communications and problem-solving skills are a must Proficiency in full Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT) expected.
