Maintenance Technician

Primary Function The maintenance technician is essential to sustaining smooth, efficient production operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment including but not limited to plastic injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (i.e. chillers, dryers, grinders) and facility infrastructure. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment promptly to minimize downtime. Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential problems before they escalated. Assist with the installation of new equipment and the relocation of existing machinery. Adhere to all safety protocol and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operational costs. Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address equipment issues and implement solutions. Supports manufacturing teams with advanced technical knowledge and solutions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or applicable certification preferred. Vocational school or junior technical college training in applicable technical areas. Minimum of 5 years related work experience; experience in an injection molding or plastic manufacturing environment highly preferred. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Strong understanding of hydraulic pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems common with industrial machines. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions. Education High School Diploma or GED.
