Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse on the Med Surg/Tele unit at Mount Sinai West delivers expert, patient-centered care by applying evidence-based nursing practices, promoting safety, and fostering positive patient experiences. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and effective patient transitions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient needs, utilizing critical thinking to develop and implement personalized care plans.
• Deliver safe, compassionate care based on the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care, including patient education and discharge planning.
• Model and facilitate patient engagement activities such as hourly rounding, medication reviews, and bedside communication to enhance patient experience.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards.
• Perform charge nurse duties, coordinate staff and resource utilization, and support patient throughput to optimize unit operations.
• Document all nursing activities thoroughly and accurately in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS RN license and current ACLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of tele and critical care nursing experience.
• Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced telemetry environment with excellent critical thinking skills.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records strongly preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; associates considered with relevant experience.
• BLS certification required.
