About the Job As a member of the Insurance Products & Operations team working collaboratively with the Law Department, you will serve as the point of contact on legal, regulatory, and other issues related to risk products and insurance operations. You will provide business areas with timely and high-quality advice on law, regulation, industry standards, and best practices relating to issues impacting the Company’s risk products through the entire product life cycle, from product innovation, design, and development to the payment of claims. You will act as a trusted advisor helping business professionals reach important decisions that mitigate legal and regulatory risks in a rapidly changing environment. What You'll Bring to the Role To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications: At least 3‑6 years of experience as an attorney practicing in‑house, at a law firm, or in the governmental or regulatory space. Strong academic record and a Juris Doctorate degree. License to practice law in the State of Wisconsin, or a commitment to become licensed within the first year of employment. Experience working with insurance or risk products (ideally life insurance, disability insurance, long‑term care insurance, or annuities), insurance litigation, and/or financial services regulatory enforcement. Ability to research, analyze diverse legal issues, synthesize complex information, and provide legal advice to business professionals at all levels of the Company. Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with high ethical standards and a positive demeanor. Ability to manage a multi‑jurisdictional practice and prioritize multiple tasks independently. Policy & Procedure : analyze current policies and procedures, identify gaps, and develop new policies to address those gaps while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Project Management : deliver projects in alignment with business requirements, success criteria, and stakeholder expectations, while managing costs and time. Risk Assessment & Identification : determine potential hazards that could impact program or enterprise objectives, evaluating severity and impacts on the business. Compensation Pay Range – Start: $144,000.00–End: $216,000.00. Geographic specific pay structures may apply for certain locations (e.g., California, NewYorkCity). Final salaries are based on a number of factors, including skills and experience, market conditions, candidate location, and other factors uncovered in the hiring process.
