Medical Assistant
ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), one of the nation's largest ENT, Allergy, and Audiology practices, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Poughkeepsie office.
Hourly: $23/hr
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients in person or by phone; respond to or route inquiries appropriately
- Prepare patients for appointments by directing or accompanying them to exam rooms
- Verify and record patient information, including medical history and reason for visit
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic in-office lab testing
- Maintain sterile instruments and properly dispose of contaminated supplies
- Educate patients on medications and provide instructions as directed
- Accurately document examinations, treatments, and test results
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Strong patient service skills with a commitment to delivering a positive patient experience
Education / Certification Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification such as CMA or RMA. Alternatively, candidates with any of the following qualifications will be considered:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
- Five (5) years of continuous experience working as a Medical Assistant
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm (rotating closing shifts)
- Saturday (1-2 per month): 8:00 - 12:00PM
- ***Please note that this schedule will change based on the Physician's schedule.***
