A&P MechanicThis position is located at our San Diego Flight Training Center Located 3794 John J Montgomery Dr, San Diego, CA 92123.Summary: The A&P Mechanic is responsible for repairs and perform scheduled maintenance on aircrafts.The A&P Mechanic must uphold the philosophy and mission of the University while instilling positive and progressive attitude in all employees.Job Requirements Include But Are Not Limited To The Following:Compliance:• Responsible for compliance with all local, state, accreditation and federal regulations• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and security of campus files, documents and reports.• Ensure and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures• Responsible for complete and accurate timekeeping.Essential Duties:• Conduct all duties and responsibilities ethically and professionally;• Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems.• Repair wings, brakes, electrical systems, and other aircraft components.• Replace defective parts, using hand tools or power tools.• Examine replacement aircraft parts for defects.• Read maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures.• Test aircraft parts with diagnostic equipment.• Inspect completed work to ensure that it meets performance standards.• Keep records of maintenance and repair work.• Clean shop as required.• Work on weekends when required.• Be willing to travel on short notice.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications And Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. One plus years' experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Other Skills And Abilities:Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with all types of people. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, set and meet deadlines and manage unexpected situations. Strong technology skills necessary.Travel Demands:Travel to various conferences and/or trainings may require overnight stays, and the number of nights is dictated by company and/or by the schedule of events. The employee must have the ability to travel to various locations as necessary. Must have vehicle suitable to safe and secure transportation.Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business communications, financial reports, legal documents, and some government reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to students, top management and/or public groups.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
