Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Night Shift position requiring 3+ years of tele experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every-other-weekend requirement plus additional weekends as needed by unit
• On-call as needed
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including other campuses
• Floating notice is typically given 1.5 hours prior to shift start, with shuttle service provided if floating between campuses
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI or MAB
• 3+ years of RN Telemetry experience required
• 6 months of travel nursing experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code teams
• Experience managing non-titrated cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
• Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required for consideration
• Certifications must be AHA or ARC accredited and uploaded with valid expiration dates
• Two professional references obtained within the last year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management for a mix of cardiac, neurological, and general medical-surgical patients
• Perform IV therapy, wound care, and manage patients with feeding tubes or renal failure as needed
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Work history verification covering the past 7 years required for all candidates
• All compliance documents due 10 days prior to start
• Re-orientation only required if previously oriented at this facility and separated for 6+ months
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Local candidates accepted at local rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate
• Former employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position due to travel experience requirement
