This position is responsible for the daily care and maintenance of the campus grounds and landscaped areas. The duties include turf care for campus grounds, landscape bed maintenance and installation, tree care, and trash removal tasks around campus. This position may also consist of athletic field venue maintenance and care, including painting/removing field lines, synthetic field maintenance practices, and fertilizer applications. This position is also responsible for trash removal tasks around campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Snow removal tasks when necessary. Assist Facilities Management teams as needed. Other duties as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Experience: One or more year(s) experience in landscape maintenance, turf maintenance or tree care. Experience working in a team‑oriented environment. Communication/Language: Basic: Ability to read, listen to and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write and communicate simple correspondence. Excellent oral communication skills are required. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Google, and Outlook. Ability to learn and effectively use Workday time keeping system. Certificates & Licenses: Valid United States driver’s license required. Other Requirements: Must be able to relate well with others and be a motivated individual. Must be willing to learn proper mowing techniques to ensure safety of students, faculty, staff and campus property. Ability to communicate effectively within leadership, other technicians, and client audiences. Ability to produce a quality work product in a prompt, safe and efficient manner. Strong customer service skills. Ability to problem solve. Ability to work without supervision and shifting work priorities; deal appropriately with multiple deadlines. Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. Willingness to seek out and work with peers to determine and apply best practices. Demonstrated capability to handle competing priorities in a complex environment and communicate progress against project requirements. Must be willing to work in a team, as well as, in a broader institutional setting to achieve divisional goals and objectives. Possesses a commitment to the values associated with a nationally respected, liberal arts educational environment. Attend training sessions and/or seminars to maintain or enhance skills that may be required for the successful operation of Facilities Management.
