Assembly Technician

Turbocharger TechnicianThe Turbocharger Technician is responsible for all aspects of the overhaul of turbochargers and their components. This role primarily involves aiding the workshop team in achieving set production targets by adhering to established systems and processes. The technician will correctly use machinery and equipment on the shop floor and read and interpret technical diagrams and instructions for the disassembly, cleaning, and assembly of turbochargers.ResponsibilitiesStart in the sandblasting area, cleaning, sandblasting, drilling, and tapping products.Assemble and disassemble turbochargers and components according to working instructions and quality standards.Conduct regular quality inspections as part of a defined production process.Use metric and imperial measuring tools such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, and gauges proficiently.Clean turbochargers and their components using workshop machinery.Ensure workshop machines are clean and maintained per manufacturers instructions and local policies.Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the workshop.Review and evaluate shop and service working practices and implement corrective actions to improve service performance.Conduct shop floor operations in compliance with health and safety guidelines, reporting any non-compliance.Essential Skills1 to 2 years of experience working as a mechanic or mechanical assembler.Ability to use hand and power tools.Mechanical aptitude.Proficiency with blueprints, schematic reading, and tape measure.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with overhead cranes, sandblasting, grinding, drilling, and mechanical assembly.High school graduate, Trade School (preferred) or equivalent.Why Work Here?Skill levels have been developed for each of the main departments within the workshop, providing a clear path for skill progression and annual merit increases.
