General Summary & Scope The Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked with merchandise, maintaining overall store cleanliness, and completing tasks as assigned. The BA supports the leadership team through a focus on performance—retail and service sales and in‑store events—people—guest service—and process—operating procedures and compliance standards. This position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Performance Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni‑channel sales, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty. Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging them upon entry, personalizing service, answering questions, informing them of promotions and sales, and recommending complementary products and/or services. Courteously handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders. Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and the guest service experience. Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals. Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits, during work time. Maintain prompt, regular attendance. People Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and the internal and external guests served. Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests on the sales floor. Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business. Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and drive sales performance. Process Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards. Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code. Drive sales by keeping the assigned work area replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available. Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness. Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using Ulta Beauty’s technology. Protect company assets by following loss‑prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service. Execute other operational tasks as directed. Job Qualifications Education High school diploma is preferred. Experience 1 year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Skills Demonstrates a passion for guest service and competency for selling. Proficient with basic technology (e.g., POS system and Apple devices). Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Ability to troubleshoot. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Special Position Requirements Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift. Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shift. Continuous and/or frequent lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs. during shift. Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
