Middle School/High School Band Teacher

The Middle School/High School Band Teacher will be responsible for managing all aspects of their concerts throughout the school year.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for running at least 3 musical concerts throughout the year and music at the 8th grade graduation.
2. Planning & executing musical concerts in the fall, winter, and spring.
3. Communicating with parents & staff on a regular basis.
4. Effectively managing students, safety, and discipline.
5. Encourage parents to donate tax dollars to the music program and use these fiscal resources responsibly.
6. Organize busing and building scheduling for practices or performances.
7. Obtain approval from administration for each event, scheduling dates and times.
8. Notify office staff and teachers of all practices and performances and students you will need for these events at least 1 month in advance.
9. Create a program for guests at each concert.
10. Make a plan for managing student behavior during concerts.
11. Keeping all concerts under 1 hour.
12. Coordinate music with 8th grade team for graduation.

Qualifications for Instrumental Music Coordinator

1. Excellent classroom management skills
2. Able to create a positive environment
3. Organized
4. Knowledgeable as it pertains to the focus of music
5. Experience teaching large group of students
6. Must possess or have the ability to obtain an AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Evaluation: The teacher is evaluated by the building principal as outlined in state law and board policy.
