General Manager Restaurant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead a chef-driven, wine-centric fine dining restaurant. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving operational excellence, team development, and financial performance. The successful candidate will be an engaged floor leader who takes ownership of the business, supports and develops the team, and creates a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead all operations with a strong presence on the restaurant floor
Foster an exceptional guest experience and uphold fine dining service standards
Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing hospitality team
Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure seamless execution between front and back of house
Manage labor, inventory, beverage costs, and overall profitability
Analyze P&L statements and key performance metrics to drive business results
Support and promote wine education, sales, and guest engagement
Establish and maintain a positive, collaborative workplace culture
Ensure the restaurant consistently meets operational, financial, and service goals
Lead by example and maintain a visible, engaged presence with both guests and team members

Qualifications

3 to 5+ years of Restaurant General Management experience, preferably in fine dining or upscale hospitality
Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including P&L management, budgeting, labor controls, and cost management
Comfortable discussing and selling wine; wine is an integral part of the guest experience
Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to work alongside the team
Strong communication, coaching, and team development skills
Proven success in operations, guest satisfaction, and profitability
Experience opening a new restaurant is highly preferred
Self-motivated leader with an ownership mentality and commitment to excellence
