About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year required License: CA state license required; pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - End-Tidal CO2 monitoring - Accessing/Managing Ports - Ambulatory/Outpatient care experience - Knowledge of procedural sedation administration/monitoring - Medication reconciliation Description: This position involves working three 12-hour shifts. Shifts primarily run from 11:00 to 23:00 or 09:00 to 21:00. Flexibility in schedule is required due to varying start times depending on assigned area. Nurses in this role are expected to stay and finish the day as outpatient surgery does not have shift relief. We are seeking candidates who have at least one year of experience. There is no weekend work requirement, and no call is needed. The unit cares for patients across all outpatient surgeries, including general, orthopedic, and urology procedures. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census averages around ten patients. Unit configuration includes spaces for pre-op and two phases of recovery. Interdisciplinary support is available, including interpretation services as needed. Candidates should be familiar with charting systems, specifically Epic. Communication devices needed for the role will be provided by the facility. This assignment may involve floating to nearby facilities if necessary.
