Service Manager

Job Overview Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC) is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are looking for a Service Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the branch’s Service Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and driving growth and profitability. Responsibilities Assess present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities of the Service Department. Within the company’s overall plans and policies, establish short and long‑term operating and financial objectives. Ensure approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department. Formulate annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and an expense budget in accordance with company objectives. Review and appraise the results of activities within the department and take appropriate action as necessary. Travel with the outside sales force to customer locations on a regular basis, promoting the Service Department and dealerships. Work with the Parts Manager and outside sales force proactively to improve labor sales efforts. Maintain appropriate communication within and between all departments within the branch. Promote safe work habits and ensure safety rules are followed. Develop and maintain policies and practices that ensure positive employee and customer relations. Stay familiar with competition, market conditions and department operations; keep the Branch Manager informed. Coordinate the processing of warranty claims with the Warranty Manager and administer warranty and policy adjustments honestly and fairly for the customer, dealership and vendor. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Safety Sensitive This position is designated as safety‑sensitive. Performing the role while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug may constitute a threat to health or safety or result in injury, illness or death, especially when operating, repairing, maintaining or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, aircraft, motorized watercraft, or motor vehicles or handling hazardous materials. Qualifications CDL preferred. Minimum four years of experience in a related field. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Prior supervisory experience. Positive “can‑do” attitude.
