** Due to client requirements, applicants must be able to work on a w2 basis Senior SQL Database Administrator Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to support and maintain critical database environments. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration, high-availability architectures, and performance optimization. Candidates who demonstrate strong technical capabilities, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and experience supporting production environments will be prioritized for interviews. Must Haves 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, and/or 2022. Proven experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching SQL Server instances. Advanced knowledge of T‑SQL, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning. Experience implementing and supporting high-availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Failover Clustering. Strong understanding of database security, including logins, roles, permissions, and Active Directory integration. Experience supporting production database environments with high uptime requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure teams, application owners, and software developers. What the Client Needs You to Do The successful candidate will ensure the stability, performance, security, and availability of enterprise SQL Server environments. You will partner with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications, implement database best practices, and drive continuous improvements across database operations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex environments with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments. Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities while minimizing system downtime. Monitor database performance, capacity, availability, and overall health to ensure optimal operation. Analyze and resolve database-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system incidents. Implement, maintain, and support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, replication, failover clustering, and log shipping. Manage database security controls, user access, permissions, and Active Directory integrations. Optimize database performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and proactive maintenance activities. Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to support deployments, enhancements, and troubleshooting efforts. Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and database standards. Participate in on-call support and production incident response activities as required. Additional Information Senior-level technical role supporting mission-critical database systems. May require participation in a 24x7 support or on-call rotation.
