Carrier Development Manager

Position SummaryThe Manager of Carrier Development is responsible for the life cycle of a carrier. Including, but not limited to vetting and onboarding, rate negotiation, contracting and awarding, and performance review. The Manager of Carrier Development reports to the SR. Director of Carrier Management.Roles and ResponsibilitiesIdentifies and recommends optimum hiring of carriers. Negotiate rates to meet business needs.Engage in carrier outreach to identify and build new carrier relationships.Works with internal stakeholders to build carrier capacity.Overall accountability for the compliance of all carriers to KAGL’s standards.Manage carrier resources; monitor carrier performanceMaintain & perform carrier audits of rates and performance.Coach, mentor, and develop talent within the groupQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in logistics, transportation, or related experienceCritical Thinking SkillsEffective Multi-tasking5 years of progressive transportation/logistics experience (Bulk preferred)Effective verbal and written communication & organizational skillsRate negotiation preferredSelf Motivated Note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
