Equipment Technician I

Summary The Equipment Technician performs preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, including inspections, lubrication, and planned parts replacement on a set schedule to ensure proper machine performance. This role engages in production equipment maintenance to support continuous production, including troubleshooting and equipment modification, and performs basic mechanical and electrical work as needed and as qualified. The position also provides administrative and operating support to the Technology teams by maintaining maintenance records, managing work orders and spare parts inventory, and supporting line change-overs within Cell and Electrode Technology operations. Responsibilities Schedule and perform inspections, lubrication, parts replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks based on a set schedule Prevent equipment failures by completing routine line inspections and repairing issues as they are identified Communicate, plan corrective action for, and elevate issues identified during inspections in a timely manner Perform repairs to machines, including equipment, filters, and wiring replacements Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed Assemble and disassemble mechanical, plumbing, and electrical parts and components as qualified Collaborate with other team members to repair machines, machine parts, and equipment Lead line change-overs and verify proper function and quality before releasing the line for full production Regularly replace fixturing tools required for production, including molds, cutters, and sealing tools; adjust conditions and verify quality Inventory machine parts, equipment, and supplies so stock can be maintained and replenished Support spare parts warehouse management, including quantity verification, ordering, and inventory control Inspect and restock maintenance-related supplies and equipment throughout the facility Develop proficiency with the computer systems required for managing spare parts Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information Manage work orders by monitoring, organizing, and registering them Organize and maintain maintenance-related documents, create and update records, and initiate electronic approvals Enter preventive maintenance data into applicable systems Work with other teams to collect information and present at weekly meetings Read and follow work instructions Develop familiarity with production processes, equipment, and spare parts Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container) Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Vocational certificate or Associate degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience Experience 1 to 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge required Knowledge and experience with production processes, complex manufacturing equipment, robotics, and pneumatics preferred Experience with preventive maintenance programs or CMMS work order systems preferred Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment Sponsorship This position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Skills Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical, plumbing, and electrical parts and components Analysis and critical thinking, including the ability to make decisions based on data Ability to read and follow work instructions, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while monitoring automated equipment in a continuous production environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams Physical Requirements Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for periods of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, ear protection, and cleanroom suit Must be able to repeatedly lift, push, and pull materials or equipment for periods of up to 12 hours Must be able to repeatedly stoop, twist, and bend for periods of up to 12 hours Must be able to repeatedly reach overhead for periods of up to 12 hours Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout production areas for extended periods Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems Work Environment Work is performed within a manufacturing facility, including cell and electrode production, clean room, and equipment support areas Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment HLBMA LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer that values the diversity of its workforce. #J-18808-Ljbffr Socket.dev
