Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Traveling Physical Therapist Opportunity

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others? Join as a traveling Physical Therapist where you'll help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Michigan Physical Therapist license required to start the assignment.
• BLS Certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience with Home Health setting preferred. Candidates new to home health will be considered.
• Familiarity with HomeCare HomeBase EMR preferred.
• Ability to meet productivity expectations of approximately 30 points per week.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the coverage area, generally Ann Arbor/Chelsea/Dexter and surrounding communities within about a one-hour radius.
• Valid driver's license and ability to use personal vehicle for patient visits; mileage reimbursed at IRS standard mileage rate.
• Interview via Teams or video call required.

Assignment Details

• Facility Type: Home Health.
• Shift Name: Days.
• Shift Days: Monday through Friday, with one weekend per month rotation.
• Coverage Area: Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, MI and surrounding communities within approximately a one-hour radius depending on referrals.
• EMR: HomeCare HomeBase.
• On Call: None.
• Weekend Rotation: One weekend per month; may not be necessary every month.

The city is home to the University of Michigan campus and the University Musical Society, both within the downtown area and walkable from major neighborhoods. Drive about 30 minutes to Waterloo State Recreation Area for hiking and water access, or 25 minutes to the Huron River for paddling and scenic trails. Ann Arbor features an urban downtown with art galleries, the Ann Arbor Art Fair (major annual event), and a well-regarded restaurant scene along Main Street and Kerrytown within a short commute. For weekend getaways, drive roughly 40 minutes to Lake Erie shoreline areas or about 35–50 minutes to larger parks and natural areas, fitting both suburban and active lifestyles.
