Critical Care Registered Nurse

Critical care registered nurses provide care in settings where patients suffer from severe medical issues. They assess patient conditions and develop patient care plans. They treat wounds and provide advanced life support. Critical care nurses assist physicians in performing procedures. They observe and record patient vital signs. They ensure proper functioning of medical equipment and make adjustments as necessary. They administer intravenous fluids and medications. Suctioning is part of their responsibilities. These nurses collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team. They respond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols. Acting as patient advocates is a key part of their role. They provide education and support to patient families. Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients.
