About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: NA Certifications: HSAP and/or CBSPD required Must-Have: - Must be available to work major holidays. - No first-time travelers. - Experience required in working with Evotech systems. - Experience with Steris washers, ultrasonic instruments, and autoclaves. - On-call required. Description: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing. Experience with instrumentation tracking software is preferred. Knowledge of sterilization wrapping procedures is essential. The position requires the use of washers and sterilizers. High-level disinfection procedures must be understood and practiced. Candidates must demonstrate competency in assembling sets and trays. The role includes immediate-use steam sterilization when necessary. Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory. Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary support are vital in this role. This position does not allow for floating to other departments. Compliance with cleaning protocols for equipment such as crash carts and IV pumps is expected. Candidates should be familiar with the monitoring of chemical and biological indicators in sterilization processes. Travel experience is required for this position.
