Job Summary
The healthcare organization is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) located in Madison, Wisconsin. The ideal candidates will provide specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients, including those with complex medical conditions such as post-transplant status, trauma, and oncology cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. This position involves working evening/night shifts with a 12-hour schedule.

Job Details

• Location: Madison, Wisconsin
• Schedule: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in telemetry oncology, cardiac, and progressive care units, including vent and transplant experience. Certifications must include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Previous charge nurse experience and proficiency with Epic charting system are required. Experience with EMR and community hospital settings preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I or II experience, experience with complex procedures such as arterial line management, central line care, chest tubes, and ventilated patient management. Travel experience required.
• Additional Information: Candidates must pass a telemetry test with a strict passing score, including identification of lethal rhythms and dysrhythmia interpretation. The test allows two attempts, with a certification in cardiac interpretation required after failure. The unit is a 29-bed, adult, high-acuity setting with interdisciplinary support such as respiratory, pharmacy, social work, and rapid response teams. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality patient care. Floating as needed is required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Wisconsin RN or compact RN license
• Special Equipment: Experience in managing ports, arterial lines, ventilators, chest tubes, and other advanced equipment is required.
• Additional Considerations: Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and some holidays. References will be requested; pass/fail testing with strict criteria is required prior to start.
