This all starts with our greatest asset…our employees.What You Will Be DoingAs the Designer/Drafter, will operate computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment to generate prints for use in production and manufacturing associated with the packaging facilities requirements.Primary Responsibilities:Design fabricated mechanical parts and system assemblies using CAD software3D modeling, create layout views, create full parametric part and assembly drawings, and create DXF files for manufactureCreate complete bill of materials for project requiring fabricationCreate 2D wiring diagrams and schematic drawings and sketchesUse CAM software to generate machine code for CNC machine operatorsVerify dimensions of sourced partsPerform simulations of 3D models under customer specified stressesQuality control in respect of initial inspection of fabrication parts and pre-shipping of finished productsEstimate fabrication costsAdhere to company policies and proceduresProduct development tasks as assigned by companyMiscellaneous duties as assigned by managementAdditional Responsibilities:Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe mannerAdditional duties as assigned by managerWho We Are Looking ForTo be successful in this position you should have prior experience as a designer/drafter specifically with electrical and mechanical drawings. You should be a critical thinker, able to lead by example, be comfortable with making decisions, show initiative, and a problem solver.Education/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferredRequired Qualifications/Skills:Certification, Training or Professional experience with SolidWorks 3D SoftwareAbility to work within a fast-paced, team driven environmentAbility to work with highly-customized productsAbility to handle pressured situations with professionalism and calm and work without supervisionAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawingsAbility to read tape measureAbility to communicate plans, goals and information effectively to the workforceGood mathematical skillsExperience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and OutlookExperience with sheet metal designKnowledge of SolidWorks SimulationsKnowledge of electrical and mechanical equipmentKnowledge of metal shop tooling, basic welds and steel workA valid Class C Driver License requiredOccasionally, heavy lifting (more than 25 lbs.) is requiredPreferred Qualifications/Skills:Experience with AutoCADAbility to create functional shop equipment training guidesKnowledge of pertinent electrical and building codesValues:At Yancey Bros.
