Senior Marketing Manager Oncology

Overview Abbott is a global healthcare leader. The Sr. Marketing Manager–Oncology will lead global end‑to‑end marketing for the Molecular Diagnostics Oncology business, working on‑site in Lake Forest, IL or Chicago, IL. Responsibilities Lead the development of global marketing strategy, prepare the annual plan and shape a 3–5 year business outlook. Manage new‑product introduction plans and global launches, including FISH technology, coordinating with cross‑functional and regional teams. Support sales and R&D for on‑market products and new launches, adapting marketing strategies to evolving market conditions. Oversee on‑market and new oncology products, systems, and technologies, ensuring compliance and addressing customer needs. Collaborate across global stakeholders to drive alignment, execution, and visibility against integrated business plans, proactively identifying and resolving risks. Partner with Global Training, Downstream Marketing, Distribution, and Sales to develop tools, messaging, value propositions, and programs that maximize commercialization success. Apply strong business acumen and data‑driven decision‑making to prioritize financial and human‑resource investments for optimal outcomes. Drive product‑development priorities to support launch readiness, sales execution, and market expansion. Execute global marketing communications in collaboration with regional teams to deliver multi‑channel strategies that strengthen brand presence. Engage sales teams and key customers to advance market development and enable revenue growth. Define tracks and report key performance metrics with sales leadership, ensuring effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement. Develop robust business cases, including analysis of investment, cost of goods, sales/service costs, and revenue potential. Maintain compliance with FDA regulations and company policies while fostering a safe, professional, and collaborative work environment. Travel 30% of the time, including international travel and working off‑hours when required. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, science, engineering, or equivalent. 8+ years of experience with demonstrated success in a complex selling environment. 5+ years of progressive experience in medical device, pharma, diagnostics, or a related industry. 3+ years in leadership roles. Experience in product, market, or program management. Oncology marketing experience preferred. Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostics, healthcare delivery, and reimbursement environments. Proven expertise in product development, launches, marketing strategy, and business development. Strong business acumen with strategic thinking and advanced analytical and project‑management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence in matrixed, global environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills across organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications MBA preferred, emphasis in marketing, science, or engineering. International marketing experience, including Asia, Canada, and Europe.
