Quality Engineer

Quality EngineerWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Clifton, NJ. This role is ideal for a quality professional with a strong aerospace or defense manufacturing background who is passionate about driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the product lifecycle. Working with complex electronic and mechanical assemblies, you will develop and implement quality protocols, lead root cause investigations, support production and inspection activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver defect-free products that exceed customer expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain quality systems and protocols that ensure compliance with customer, government, regulatory, and company requirements.Establish quality evaluation and control processes for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex electronic and mechanical products.Support production by leading hardware inspections, incoming material evaluations, electrical testing, and assembly inspections.Lead Failure Review Board (FRB) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, driving timely issue resolution and preventive corrective actions.Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations using industry-standard problem-solving methodologies.Analyze quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve processes, and drive operational excellence.Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support Zero Defect Plan (ZDP) execution aligned with business objectives.Prepare professional technical reports, presentations, quality documentation, and case studies.Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to manufacturing and quality personnel on quality processes and best practices.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and government representatives to resolve quality issues without compromising product integrity.Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management standards and applicable aerospace and defense regulations.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or another technical discipline.Minimum of 9 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience in an aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environment.Comprehensive knowledge of quality engineering principles and project management.Must be a U.S. Citizen.Ability to obtain a Security Clearance upon hire.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Must be able to work onsite in Clifton, NJ.Preferred QualificationsDegree concentration in Aerospace, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.ASQ Certification.Six Sigma Black Belt certification.Expert knowledge of Oracle AGILE PLM.Expertise with IPC standards for high-performance soldering, conformal coating, and connector assembly.Advanced understanding of AS9100 quality management systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Desired SkillsAerospace and DoD manufacturing experienceFRB/MRB leadershipRoot Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA)Continuous Improvement & Lean methodologiesQuality metrics and KPI analysisSupplier quality and process improvementStrong leadership and mentoring abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam-oriented with exceptional organizational skillsWork Environment80% Manufacturing/Production Floor20% Office EnvironmentPrimary focus supporting circuit card assembly and complex electronic manufacturing operations.Why Join Us?Competitive pay of $50.00-$55.00 per hourWork on advanced aerospace and defense technologies.Opportunity to lead impactful quality initiatives and continuous improvement projects.Collaborative environment with experienced engineering and manufacturing teams.Play a critical role in delivering high-reliability products that support mission success.
