Job Title: Senior Android Developer
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Type: Contract
Position Summary:
- We are seeking a Senior Android Developer with 7 10 years of experience to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade Android applications.
- The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Clean Architecture, MVVM, mobile security, performance optimization, and CI/CD.
- This role requires close collaboration with product, UX, architecture, and engineering teams while mentoring junior developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable native Android applications.
- Develop features using Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and Android SDK.
- Define and implement MVVM/Clean Architecture and reusable components.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party SDKs.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, accessibility, and security.
- Implement secure authentication (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, biometrics).
- Mentor developers, perform code reviews, and establish engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX, QA, DevOps, and backend teams.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and Google Play Store releases.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- 7 10 years of native Android application development.
- Expertise in Kotlin and Java.
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Coroutines, Flow, Room, Retrofit, Hilt/Dagger, and Firebase.
- Experience with REST APIs, Git, Gradle, Android Studio, and Agile delivery.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance tuning, testing, and secure coding.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech.
- Experience with GraphQL, Kotlin Multiplatform, or Flutter.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Knowledge of OWASP Mobile Security, PCI DSS, and ADA accessibility.
