SYSTEMS ENGINEER ACQUISITION PROFESSIONAL 

LOCATION: El Segundo, CA

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI

TRAVEL: As Needed

SALARY RANGE:  Estimated $130,000+ USD Annually*

*depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications

Astrion is seeking a Systems Engineer Lead to support our customer in  El Segundo, CA.

The Cybersecurity Analyst provides direct Assessment & Authorization support to the Space Systems Command, Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power, Innovation and Prototyping Delta.

The Innovation and Prototyping Delta provides next-generation rapid, innovative & affordable technology that leverages international, commercial, & interagency partnerships.

This position requires a DoD Top Secret Clearance to start.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Minimum 6+ years in Information Assurance functions including but not limit to the DoD Certification & Accreditation process, the RMF process, the Enterprise Information Technology Data Repository (EITDR), EMASS, monitoring and maintaining the Vulnerability Management System, CMI activities.
• Top Secret clearance and SCI Eligible.
• Experience with 8570 compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.                        
• CompTIA Security+ will work providing if having Certification & Accreditation (C&A) or Assessment & Authorization (A&A) experience under Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework protocols.
• Advanced-level competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional ( CISSP, or equivalent) 
• Familiarity with Space System Command (SSC) Certification and Authorization (C&A) procedures and US Space Force SAP networks.
• Excellent and detail-oriented organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
