Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within our clinic. This position requires strong clinical skills, knowledge of DME, FAA exams, INSPIRE, and pulmonary medication, and the ability to work effectively in an extremely fast-paced environment. Duties * Assist healthcare providers with orders for DME equipment (CPAP & oxygen) and prescriptions. * Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, eye exams, temperature, preparing patients for consult, and documenting medical histories. * Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians. * Conduct basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis. * Maintain patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with coding standards. * Assist with answering phones, faxing orders, reminding patients of their appointments, and handle all prior authorizations for medications and in-lab sleep studies. * Provide patient education regarding treatment plans and follow-up care. * Uphold safety protocols and maintain a clean and extremely organized work environment. Requirements * Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. * ECW knowledge * Knowledge of patient care practices, particularly in sleep and pulmonary. * Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorizations for medications. * Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology. * Strong understanding in pulmonary and sleep medication. * Great Patient Care skills. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure with patients and work colleagues. Monday through Thursday 7:45 am - 5 pm with 30-minute lunch. Friday 7:45 am to 12:00 pm ***No cellphone policy*** The practice has a strong policy where cellphones cannot be visible during work, only during lunch time. Please know that there is a 90-day work-day probation period with no call-ins allowed. Once this 90-day work-day probation period is complete, employee will be receiving benefits of PTO. The practice strives highly on patient care and customer service, please note that we are looking for people who can de-escalate situations as well as provider 100% customer service to patients and staff.
