Our established dental practice in West Orange, NJ is seeking a reliable, clinical, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone with 2 to 7 years of clinical experience and a current x-ray license is required.

This is a permanent position offering a stable schedule of 26 to 30 hours per wee k with Fridays off.

Note: We are strictly seeking a traditional chairside assistant with a current radiology license.

Expanded functions / RDA / CDA credentials are NOT required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Set up, breakdown, clean, and sterilize treatment rooms and dental instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Take digital x-rays (FMX, PAs, BWs )
• Provide high-quality chairside assistance to the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Comfortably manage patient flow, review medical histories, and take accurate clinical notes on our dental software.
• Manage inventory and order dental supplies
• Ensure proper maintenance of dental equipment and instruments
• Maintain a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor to help put anxious patients at ease.
• Assist front desk with clerical duties

Qualifications

• 1 to 7 years of dental assisting experience required
• Licensure: Must hold an active New Jersey Dental X-Ray License (Required).
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication skills and a reliable work ethic

Schedule

Mon: 8:45-5:30 with 1 hour unpaid lunch

Tues: 8:45-2:15

Wed: 12:45-6:45

Thur: 12:45-6:45

Sat: 8:45-1:15 (one Sat/month)
