Commercial Auto/GL Claims Specialist

Job Overview Amerisure is seeking a Commercial General Liability & Auto Claims Specialist with experience managing claims involving subcontractors, general contractors, and risk transfer scenarios. The position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with on‑site expectations for employees located near an office. Responsibilities Collaborate with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders on high‑complexity/severity claims, providing strategic input on the book of business. Investigate losses, identify coverage, evaluate liability and damages, and review and analyze documents and legal pleadings independently. Work with counsel to manage litigated claims and leverage experience in analyzing documents and legal pleadings. Develop a plan of action to proactively conclude claims, evaluate damages in a timely manner, negotiate with other parties, and settle claims per guidelines. Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim to accurately reflect financial exposure. Identify and engage external resources as needed to resolve claims while monitoring and controlling costs. Address contractual indemnifications and additional insured coverage issues. Review and interpret commercial insurance policies and communicate coverage issues verbally and in writing. Participate in cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve issues and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 6 years handling general liability and/or bodily injury claims of high complexity and severity. Experience with contractual indemnification and additional insured coverages. AIC or SCLA certification preferred. Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships and partnerships. Ability to travel overnight up to 10% and travel between locations as needed.
