Registered Nurse

The position involves caring for intermediate care and medical-surgical stepdown cardiology patients. The average patient ratio is 4:1, ensuring quality care and attention to each patient. The unit specializes in cardiology patients but also admits any type of patient requiring medical-surgical or intermediate care status. Patient admissions include those undergoing cardiothoracic surgery, patients with coronary artery disease, and those with heart failure exacerbation. Care for patients may involve management of bradycardia, temporary pacemakers, and various dysrhythmias. Special procedures may include care for post-cardiac angiogram patients and management of chest tubes. All candidates must be willing to float to other areas as needed. The nursing team collaborates with interdisciplinary support including therapy, radiology, and pharmacy services. Candidates must have experience with cardiac telemetry and the management of various medical devices. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care. This position requires the ability to work nights, including weekends, as part of a rotating schedule. Travelers must comply with all documentation requirements and demonstrate sufficient experience to meet the needs of the unit.
