Ultra Sound PositionPerforms diagnostic ultrasound and/or vascular exams on all types of patients in an efficient and caring manner in order to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical conditions. Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgment in the performance of services.Essential duties include operating medical diagnostic ultrasound equipment to complete a variety of procedures, assisting physicians in fine needle biopsy and localization procedures, consistently producing diagnostic quality exams, effectively using computer systems to process and distribute information, assisting in the transportation of patients, participating in clinical training of students, and participating in quality assurance activities.Qualifications include certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or the ARRT ultrasound pathway, demonstrated competence in all diagnostic ultrasound procedures, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and under pressure, demonstrated computer skills, and CPR certification.Patient centered care and behavioral expectations include living the Genesis Mission, Vision and Values, promoting patient and employee safety, and maintaining a positive work environment.Working conditions and physical requirements include ability to sit, stand, push, pull, bend, and walk for extended periods of time, ability to manipulate technical equipment, ability to tolerate stress, cognitive ability to manage multiple stimuli, and cognitive ability to assess situational needs and problem solve.
