Summary This position will be used to fill vacancies for various FMWR facilities on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. These facilities include City Center, Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area, Chena Bend Golf Course, Warrior Zone and more! Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
- Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
- Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures.
- Stocks bar. Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary.
- Receives and checks quantity and description of stock.
- Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a medical examination.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Must be able to work all shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Stands for prolonged periods of time.
- Work is primarily indoors.
- Exposed to cuts and bruises.
- Must meet state/local age requirements (18) for the serving of alcohol at the time of appointment.
- Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
- Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
- Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.
- Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change.
- Ability to recognize intoxicated and unruly patrons and take necessary remedial action.
- Skill in recognizing impending shortages of inventory.

- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
