Job Position: Pharmacy Technician Certified

Location: Detroit, MI 48214

Pay Rate: $21.00/hr

Shift: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Wednesday's 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

Description:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Checks all prescriptions for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization

Enters patient data and prescription information into computer system.

Prepares medication orders and pre-packaged medications in commonly used quantities. Prepares mail-out prescriptions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Calculates correct dosages, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
Types prescription labels and assists with filing and billing. Computes prices.
Assists with invent01y control of medications. Helps order supplies and medications. Receives and stock medications.
Provides non-drug information to patients and answers simple inquires.
Cleans pharmacy equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification required for out of state applicants.
Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Tech License required
Completion of on-job Pharmacy Technician training program required
Minimum of 1 (one) year of pharmacy experience required.
