Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a 1:1 sitter, providing direct patient care and supervision to assigned patients. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring patient status, and supporting the patient care team to ensure safety and comfort. The CNA will perform delegated clinical and clerical duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, maintaining high standards of care and communication. Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one patient supervision to ensure safety and well-being.
• Assist patients with routine activities of daily living such as hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and positioning.
• Perform range of motion exercises and skin care as needed.
• Obtain and record vital signs, including pulse oximetry and pain assessments.
• Assist with specimen collection and processing as directed.
• Support nursing staff by performing delegated patient care procedures including suctioning, blood sugar finger sticks, and EKGs.
• Prepare patient rooms, assist with admissions and discharges, and maintain cleanliness of equipment.
• Communicate patient status and report changes promptly to licensed nursing staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering unit phones, data entry, and coordinating equipment and supply needs.

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current AHA BLS Provider CPR certification at hire.
• Ability to perform direct patient care under supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare team members.

• Experience working as a CNA in hospital or clinical settings.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and data entry.
• Prior experience in patient safety and one-on-one patient monitoring.

• Role primarily involves one-on-one patient sitting requiring constant vigilance.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Position may require assisting with emergency situations as directed.

• Work schedule and shifts will be assigned based on patient needs and facility requirements.
• May include day, evening, or night shifts depending on staffing and patient care demands.
