Join us and let’s get started.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Sr. Project Manager - Transit-Rail position in the Salt Lake, Denver, or Phoenix Office. This is a key position and will report to the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Department.JOB SUMMARY:The position includes responsibility for business development, management of transit studies, preliminary design and final design of transit infrastructure projects including BRT, LRT, Streetcar, Commuter Rail, Heavy Rail, and High-Speed Rail throughout the western United States. Clients can include Colorado Department of Transportation, City and County of Denver, DART, LA Metro, BART, Caltrans, San Diego MTS, UTA, RTD and more. The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM team and/or discipline lead, project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others in the AECOM US West Region.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.Identifies discrepancies in results.Provides guidance to entry level engineers.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:10 years of relevant experiencePE license in one or more states in the western US or ability to obtainExperience with business development and client relationsExperience designing transit and transportation infrastructureExperience with design software including MicroStation and GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads- Track and manage task budgets and scheduleDemonstrate leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interactionAbility to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this roleProvide in-depth Quality Control and Quality Assurance for design/project management/program management.Familiar with MS Office.Additional InformationTravel may be required for this position.Sponsorship is available for this positionAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
