Job Summary The Senior Director - Transformation Portfolio Management leads the Transformation Office's portfolio management function and is accountable for SHI's most strategic, executive-sponsored transformation initiatives, known as Lighthouse Programs, as well as the enterprise portfolio governance processes that determine which initiatives are funded, prioritized, sequenced, and delivered. This role serves as the strategic control tower and governance backbone for SHI's transformation portfolio, overseeing portfolio prioritization, intake and demand management, executive visibility, resource planning, governance, and value realization. The Senior Director is responsible for ensuring that SHI invests in the right initiatives at the right time and achieves measurable business outcomes from multi-year, enterprise-wide transformation programs that fundamentally reshape operating models, technology platforms, and business processes. Role Description Lead SHI's enterprise transformation portfolio from intake through prioritization, sequencing, governance, delivery oversight, and benefits realization, ensuring investments align with strategic business objectives and deliver measurable value. Direct the Transformation Portfolio Management function and provide portfolio-level orchestration, executive visibility, and execution discipline across a select group of high-impact, multi-year Lighthouse Programs. Design, implement, and oversee the transformation intake and demand management process, evaluating requests based on strategic alignment, business impact, urgency, effort, dependencies, and organizational capacity. Establish and maintain qualification criteria for Lighthouse Programs, ensuring only initiatives meeting defined strategic, financial, and scope thresholds enter the transformation portfolio while partnering with the IT PMO on routing all other demand. Lead portfolio prioritization and trade-off decisions by balancing strategic objectives, business value, dependencies, capacity constraints, and delivery considerations. Continuously evaluate portfolio performance and recommend initiative reprioritization or retirement as business needs evolve. Operate as a strategic peer to the Senior Director, IT PMO, collaborating on the design and execution of a dual-PMO operating model, including governance structures, escalation paths, dependency management, and executive reporting. Establish and facilitate executive governance forums, including Steering Committees, portfolio reviews, ELT updates, and decision‑making sessions to support strategic execution and proactive risk management. Lead portfolio‑ and program‑level coordination across Lighthouse Programs, partnering with Program Leads, Product Managers, ERP and IT leaders, and business sponsors to ensure scope, schedule, and value commitments are achieved. Embed benefits realization and adoption measurement into transformation initiatives to ensure value is sustained beyond implementation and that Lighthouse Programs consistently achieve committed scope, schedule, and budget objectives. Provide enterprise‑wide visibility into portfolio health, risks, dependencies, resource capacity, and business outcomes through outcome‑driven reporting and executive dashboards. Own portfolio-level resource and capacity planning, proactively identifying constraints and enabling informed prioritization decisions across initiatives. Serve as the primary escalation point for cross-program risks, delivery challenges, and resource conflicts while facilitating decisions that protect enterprise outcomes. Manage the portfolio operating cadence, including weekly program reviews, monthly portfolio reviews, quarterly executive steering committees, and executive leadership reporting. Partner with Finance, Product Management, ERP leadership, Learning & Development, Change Management, Communications, and the IT PMO to ensure initiatives are appropriately governed, executable, and aligned to organizational objectives. Enable and support Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies based on program complexity, risk, and business requirements. Lead, mentor, and develop senior Program Management and Business Analyst talent within the Transformation Portfolio Management function, establishing clear career pathways, capability expectations, and organizational effectiveness. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, including the CEO, CFO, ELT, and business unit leaders, providing strategic guidance, portfolio insights, risk assessments, and executive‑ready recommendations to support informed decision‑making. Skill Level Requirements Expertise in enterprise portfolio management, including portfolio governance, intake management, prioritization frameworks, demand management, and capacity planning. Expertise in leading enterprise transformation programs, including ERP implementations, mergers and acquisitions integration, operating model transformation, and large-scale technology deployments. Expertise in executive governance, steering committee facilitation, and board‑level reporting. Advanced strategic planning and execution capabilities with the ability to develop and implement long‑term transformation roadmaps. Expertise in value realization, benefits tracking, and outcome‑based portfolio management. Advanced ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with executive leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders. Strong understanding of enterprise technology trends, including ERP platforms, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and data platforms. Demonstrated ability to make strategic portfolio trade‑off decisions using financial, operational, and organizational considerations. Strong executive communication and presentation skills. Advanced change management, organizational transformation, and leadership capabilities. Strong business acumen with the ability to connect transformation initiatives to financial and operational outcomes. Expertise in governance frameworks, enterprise risk management, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement practices. Proven ability to lead large‑scale cross‑functional collaboration across business, technical, and operational teams. Other Requirements Completed Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. 15+ years of progressive experience leading portfolio management, program management, or enterprise transformation initiatives, including multi‑year strategic programs. 7+ years of senior leadership experience overseeing complex transformation portfolios at an executive level. Proven experience leading enterprise‑scale transformation initiatives such as ERP implementations, major platform deployments, mergers and acquisitions integration, or operating model transformation. Demonstrated experience designing and managing enterprise intake and demand management processes that govern portfolio entry and investment decisions. Proven ability to establish and enforce portfolio governance standards and qualification criteria that distinguish transformational initiatives from operational work. Experience operating within dual‑PMO or matrixed PMO environments while coordinating governance and delivery with peer PMO leadership teams. Demonstrated success implementing value realization frameworks that track and measure financial and operational outcomes. Executive presence with the ability to present effectively to CEOs, CFOs, executive leadership teams, and board‑level audiences. Ability to travel up to 25% for SHI, partner, and customer events. Preferred Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related advanced degree. Certifications PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional), PgMP, PMP, PMI-PBA, MSP, SAFe, or equivalent portfolio/program management certification. Prosci or similar change management certification. Direct experience leading or managing enterprise ERP transformation programs involving Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday, or comparable platforms. Experience within a Transformation Office, Enterprise PMO, Portfolio Management Office, or Corporate Development organization. Experience managing strategic initiative governance models comparable to Lighthouse Program frameworks. Background in management consulting with firms such as Deloitte, Accenture, EY, McKinsey, or similar organizations, with transformation portfolio or program leadership responsibilities. Experience leading or supporting AI, data platform, and operating model transformation initiatives. Experience using modern portfolio management and delivery platforms such as ServiceNow SPM, Planview, Smartsheet, Jira Align, or similar solutions. Exceptional executive communication and influencing skills with the ability to drive alignment across business, technical, and functional leadership teams without direct authority. Compensation The estimated annual pay range for this position is $185,000 - $225,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
