Network Analyst II

The Tangipahoa Parish School System (TPSS) is now accepting applications for the following:

POSITION: Network Analyst (12 Months)

SALARY: $48,351 - $65,072 (Based on verified years of relevant experience)

LOCATION: Technology Department Hammond, LA

CRITERIA: Must have on or before the advertised deadline:

  • Baccalaureate, Associates or Technical Degree/Certification in computer-related technology
  • Intermediate networking and Windows Server skills
  • Experience in hardware maintenance and repair in a server environment
  • Experience with desktop application for Windows server
  • Experience in network troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Preferred experience in MAC operating systems

Job Title: Network Analyst II

Reports to: Network Administrator

Dept: Technology

Primary Purpose: Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of computer equipment and manages internal software platforms

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Baccalaureate or Technical Degree/Certification in computer-related technology

Special Knowledge/Skills: Intermediate networking and Windows Server OS skills

Experience
  • Must have experience in hardware maintenance and repair in a server environment
  • Must have experience with desktop applications for Windows 11 and server applications for Windows 2016 and later
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft System Center applications, GSuite Admin Console and/or Mobile Device Management applications.
  • Must have experience in network troubleshooting and maintenance
Major Responsibilities and Duties

1. Install, layout, and maintain all network components.

2. Plan, design, analyze, and provide technical support for data communications network or group of networks

3. Conduct research and evaluation of network technology and recommend purchases of network equipment

4. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of personal computer and server hardware and software

5. Install network (client and server) software on a variety of platforms (e.g. service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades, etc.) for the purpose of upgrading and maintaining district WAN/LAN and telecommunication systems

6. Install, configure, and troubleshoot peripheral products including printers, scanners, and media drives

7. Provide technical assistance to end-users

8. Recommends equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of acquiring required items and completing jobs efficiently

9. Assist in coordination of warranty work for hardware repairs

10. Assist with inventory and deliver of hardware equipment

11. Install and configure software applications

12. Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Macintosh operating systems

13. Possess ability to identify, diagnose and find effective solutions to problems related to server and network hardware and server software

14. Show ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, vendors and district personnel

15. Act as a team player with the ability to work independently

16. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills

17. Possess the ability to communicate effectively and positively both orally and in writing with teachers, administrators and other staff

18. Other duties as assigned

  • Frequent district travel and occasional statewide travel
