Financial Controller

Overview

Seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations for a complex multi-entity environment. This role partners closely with Investment teams and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting:

• Oversee accounting and tax processes for ~50 entities with external CPAs
• Manage 100+ bank and portfolio accounts (balances, rates, risk monitoring)
• Approve invoices, payments, wires, and transfers
• Coordinate with attorneys/CPAs on structure, policy, and tax matters
• Review property taxes and manage appeals
• Handle foreign bank account reporting

Investments

• Evaluate investment advisors and cash management strategies
• Oversee subscription document execution
• Partner with Investment Committee on diligence and approvals

Operations & Systems

• Maintain entity and investment records (cloud-based)
• Administer systems
• Oversee data integrity, backups, and IT/equipment approvals

Risk & Insurance

• Manage D&O, liability, property, and specialty coverage

HR & Payroll

• Oversee payroll, compensation, benefits, and employer taxes
• Manage staff and contractors; maintain policies/handbook

Additional Oversight

• Support foundation activities, including charitable distributions
• Administer multiple trusts and coordinate with advisors

Qualifications

• Strong financial services management and multi-entity oversight experience
• Familiarity with relevant systems preferred in a technology heavy environment
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High level of discretion and professionalism
