Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care!

Job Description:


- Position: Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care
- Status: Open
- Assignment Duration: 08/20/26 to 09/17/26 (4 Weeks)
- Hours: 36 Hours/week, 12H Night Shift (07:00 PM - 07:30 AM)

Facility Details:


- Location: Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital
- Unit: R4 Progressive Care
- Total Beds: 341
- Unit Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)


Key Responsibilities:


- Provide patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Float on a Resource Float team, adapting to unit needs.
- Ensure high-quality monitoring and administration of medications including:
- Insulin drips
- Cardiac drips
- Maintain safety and efficacy in patient care, particularly for:
- Acute coronary syndromes
- Patients requiring closely monitored care


Requirements:


- Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date.
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience.
- Proficiency in starting IVs and managing post-cardiac catheterization patients.
- Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years is mandatory.


Work Environment:


- Collaborative environment with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1.
- Support staff includes Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Telemetry Techs.
- 1-2 days of orientation will prepare you for success on the unit.
- Candidates must have reliable transportation; public transport is not accessible.

Dress Code:


- Scrubs: Navy blue or white
- Shoes: Closed-toe, non-skid
- Groomed, professional appearance with minimal jewelry; no artificial nails.
