Physician Assistant (Primary Care)

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program approval - award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Duties Provide comprehensive care for Veterans for a panel of patients or same-day access Perform initial histories and physical examinations on outpatients Provide ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients Screen outpatients to determine the need for further care Prescribe medications within the defined scope of practice Order diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms Review need for and order health promotion and disease prevention measures Initiate, respond to, and expedite requests for consultations, special tests, and studies Provide education and counseling of patients and families in preventative care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments and drugs VA offers a comprehensive Total Rewards Package Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (subject to change based on facility needs) Telework: Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position EDRPAuthorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive Contact Demetrius Roberts – the EDRP Coordinator – at View email address on click.appcast.io for questions/assistance #J-18808-Ljbffr
