Registered Nurse - General Surgery

Job TitleCoordinates patient care activity on the phone and in the office and clinic, providing necessary support to the physician within established guidelines. Patient care activities within scope of nursing practice will include but are not limited to patient assessment, medication management, collaboration with healthcare providers, patient education, procedural management, and other duties as assigned.Essential FunctionsProvides compassionate and high-quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.Initiates and implements patient care plan.Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees.Maintains evidence-based standards of patient care.Promotes a culture of patient safety when providing care.Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution.Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel.Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders.Administers medications and intravenous solutions safely and correctly.Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting.Arranges to have needed supplies and equipment on hand.Participates in planning changes and improvements.Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's Degree, Associates Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure Excellent customer service and communication skills Two to three years clinical experience preferred CPR certification is requiredQualificationsSkillsPreferred: Problem Solving Intermediate Time Management Intermediate Team Player Intermediate Self-Motivation Intermediate Positive Attitude Intermediate Issue Resolution Intermediate EPIC Some Knowledge Interpersonal Skills Intermediate Employee Relations Intermediate Decision Making IntermediateLicenses & CertificationsRequired: Registered Nurse
