Accounts Payable Manager University of South Carolina – Columbia, SC Posting Number: STA00600PO19 Classification Title: Accounting/Fiscal Manager I Internal Title: Accounts Payable Manager Department: DAF Controller's Office Responsibilities Direct and manage the Accounts Payable area within General Accounting in the Controller’s Office, including daily processing of all accounts payable payments, pay cycle check runs, and communication with departments and suppliers on accounts payable issues and special types of payments. Review and audit Accounts Payable work daily, and provide annual reporting of open items and payables at year end. Serve as the liaison with the Purchasing Department on all related issues regarding processes and payments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and eight (8) years of professional accounting experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of accounting principles, tax, banking, budgeting, financial management or investment. Knowledge or demonstrated ability to understand and research tax and tax treaties. Knowledge of state government fiscal accounting processes. Knowledge of financial statement analysis. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports. Ability to plan, organize, review and supervise the work of subordinates. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively.
