Better Living Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team and provide vital mental health support to individuals affected by trauma. This full-time position will empower you to utilize your expertise in a telehealth setting, helping clients navigate their mental health challenges and embark on a pathway to recovery.

Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to provide therapy from a comfortable setting. The telehealth model we utilize ensures that you can deliver essential mental health services while managing your own work-life balance. Your work schedule will generally be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some potential flexibility required based on client needs.

  • Conduct thorough and sensitive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' trauma histories and determine appropriate treatment modalities.

  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals, focusing on strategies for trauma recovery and resilience-building.
  • \n
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing and growth.

  • Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process trauma, establish effective coping strategies, and promote emotional well-being.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients, enhancing treatment effectiveness.

  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring client safety and emotional security.

  • Educate clients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with the knowledge and resources they need for recovery.

  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care practices.

  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continuously improve client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily involve individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, with a particular focus on those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. By employing a trauma-informed approach, you will facilitate a supportive therapeutic relationship that encourages healing and resilience.

Qualifications\n

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • \n
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in the state of Texas.
  • \n
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment approaches.
  • \n
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, maintaining a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor when working with clients.

  • Ability to effectively manage high-stress situations with composure.

  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications for documentation and client management.

  • A collaborative mindset, ready to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a supportive setting.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience specifically delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions will enhance your application. Additionally, familiarity with telehealth practices and virtual counseling platforms is advantageous as we adapt to a digital-first approach for our clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
