Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence

Associate Director of Competitive Intelligence at AbbVie in Florham Park, NJ. The role involves analyzing pharmaceutical market dynamics and competitive threats, developing CI strategy for therapeutic areas, and providing actionable intelligence to franchise teams. Hybrid position with three fixed in-office days per week.

Responsibilities

Provide objective analysis of disruptive forces and competitive drivers in pharmaceutical industry
Lead CI strategy for specified therapeutic areas and escalate competitor implications to leadership
Execute CI plan by collecting intelligence from secondary sources and managing external vendors
Coordinate and report on CI activities at scientific conferences
Partner across organization to integrate clinical, medical, regulatory, and access perspectives into CI

Requirements

PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field plus 3 years pharmaceutical/healthcare CI experience
Or Master's degree in related field plus 6 years pharmaceutical/healthcare CI experience
3 years experience collecting CI from secondary sources like Biomedtracker
3 years managing external vendors and synthesizing/disseminating intelligence
3 years managing CI research within budgets and timelines
3 years ensuring CI compliance with financial and ethical guidelines

Compensation: $246,438 - $268,500 per year
