Software Developer, Technical Support RoleThis is a software developer, technical support role to support the MCM. The focus will be on the integration between the BNS upstream and downstream systems.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about MCM and about commercial real estate finance.A typical day in the role includes:Supporting production issuesSoftware developmentSupporting deploymentBuilding backend systemsUI developmentWorking with messaging and monitoringWorking closely with IT senior manager and other developersInteraction with business team to gather requirementsCandidate requirements/must-have skills:10+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale applications with complex integrations (experience with modern programming languages such as Java and/or Python; developing and consuming Web Services and APIs)4+ years of experience with data technologies and databases, including one or more of the following: PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, with the ability to work comfortably with large datasets (experience writing, reading, and executing SQL scripts)2+ years of experience with front-end technologies including Angular, React, and JavaScript3+ years of experience with CI/CD and build automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins3+ years experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure or GCP, and Kubernetes3+ years of experience with test automation (includes SRE monitoring and synthetic monitoring)Nice-to-have skills:Previous experience working in mortgage capital marketsExperience using job scheduling and orchestration tools such as CRON, Tidal, or AirflowExperience using application and infrastructure monitoring tools such as Dynatrace for performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident analysisExperience working in an Agile environment, with a solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD)Soft skills required:Communication skillsStrong team playerEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experienceBest vs. average candidate: The ideal candidate will have strong back-end development experience, would be able to hit the ground running and have the ability to work independently.
